Cape Canaveral
Kennedy Space Center
Day 2
“Discover Today and Tomorrow” Tour
Nov. 5, 2010
Kennedy Space Center policy is to cancel tours on the day of any launch. The shuttle launch was originally scheduled on November 1st, the day I was flying from Los Angeles to Orlando. Problems with the shuttle itself combined with weather delayed the launch repeatedly.
I had 2 days scheduled for the Kennedy Space Center (Thursday Nov. 4 and Friday Nov. 5). When the launch of the shuttle eventually got to Thursday, I called on Wednesday morning and it took an hour to get an answer and was able to reschedule the 1st day at Kennedy Space Center to Wednesday Nov. 3 and had to leave the hotel immediately and arrived at Kennedy around 10:40 am and stayed at the visitor center area the whole day. Highlights of Day 1 at the Kennedy Space center can be found at this link bellow…
Due to weather on Thursday Nov 4 the launch was again delayed to Friday and I got a phone call on Thursday stating that all tours would be canceled on Friday Nov. 5.
Friday comes along and due to an issue with the shuttle it was again delayed to launch possibly on Monday but no reinstatement of tours that I was aware of for Friday Nov 5.
So I never got the Day 2 tour which was a bus tour to pads and Saturn 5 center which was a disappointment as I wanted to see the full Saturn 5 (the moon rocket), hopefully I will get back to see it another time.
