Hong Kong
Ocean Park
March 10, 2008
Description & Accessibility
If you are in Hong Kong, Ocean Park is one of those attractions that you really should try to spend a full day at.
It is also the only place that I have seen live Panda’s.
There is two sections to the park and you must take a cable car over a mountain to get between the two sections of the park.
Lots of things to see and do here, there is also an amusement ride section to the park.
Accessibility:
YES
Here is what is mentioned on their website in regards to accessibility….
“Most of the exhibition halls and mechanical rides are accessible by physically disabled guests including toilets, ramps, theatre viewing platforms and Stairmate facilities. There are specially designed gondolas at the Cable Car, Ferris Wheel and Balloons-up-up-and-away for wheelchair bound guests. For wheelchair services, please contact our Guest Relations Office.”
We had a pre-arranged ride to the park but on the return to the hotel we took a taxi. One important note on taking a taxi in Hong Kong is that you should always get a card from the hotel with the name / address / phone number of the hotel in both English and Chinese; a lot of the taxi drivers do not speak English well and all you have to do is show them the card and they will know where to take you.
If you require roll on transportation please check in advance at both the park and the hotel in regards to this service.
