Description & Accessibility
I went to a theater presentation on the cruise ship about this port and it was mentioned that there would be a van for mobility / wheelchair people. At the end of the presentation I went and asked where did it go to, he said to the end of the pier, then I asked what was at the end of the pier and the answer was nothing. I asked what is the point of having accessible transportation to the end of the pier if you cannot get any further. The only answer I got was that I may be able to get a taxi or bus from there. That information was in contradiction to the information in the link above.
So I decided not to bother and just stay on the ship and let my wife take a tour.
During the time in port I watched carefully from the outside deck where the shuttle buses where going and not a single one stopped at the end of the pier / port every single one turned towards town.
The ship especially among the mobility impaired passengers was getting the nickname ‘the I don’t know ship’
We both would have certainly opted to take the shuttle into the shopping district as that was what we had planned if someone would have just given us and confirmed the correct information.
