Carnival Ecstacy
On the Ship
Part 2
I must say for a smaller cruise ship it really surprised me how lovely it is laid out and decorated.
Now some people may not be as favorable to the large number of neon light displays but I really loved the way it looked on this ship. In addition the ship as a whole was laid out differently than all the previous carnival ships we had been on which was also a plus to have that change.
The area of the ship called ‘City Lights’ is spectacular at night, it has a motorcycle, a Rolls Royce car, in the Chinatown area it has a Chinese delivery truck
The neon light theme seems to overcome the ship.
My only complaint is the way the accessible cabins where designed and elevator labeling. I had an inside cabin with just barely enough room to get turned around, the bathroom had a 3.5 inch step up into it.
It was the first time I ever came across an cabin entrance door that was not self closing. The entrance hallway inside the cabin was narrow but wide enough to enter with a wheelchair, the problem was – when trying to exit the cabin the entrance door had a magnet that would stick to a closed bathroom door, now it took a real challenge to get this door closed as you had to manage to get by it, free the door from the magnet sticking it to the bathroom door and then because it was not self closing trying to grab it and pull it closed as you exit was not easy.
We had cabin E56, I do not remember any sill going into the shower but there was a step into the bathroom where the shower was.
As you can see there is not much selection of 100% accessible states rooms on the ecstacy.
Elevator labeling was bit confusing, first certain elevators did not go to all decks. A lot of elevators had on the top outside letters representing the names of the decks and not the deck numbers themselves.
