Coromandel
Full Day Tour
March 7, 2008
Description & Accessibility
This was a full day private tour of the Coromandel Area.
Nice scenery, we passed a number of Deer farms along the way.
We also took a stroll off road to see the unique plants & trees there.
This beach area was very unique at one end of the beach was a section where if you took put a shovel into the sand, the water that filled the hole was hot.
Accessibility:
The van used did not have roll on capabilities but if your mobility device was foldable or quickly came apart it could be carried in the vehicle.
The train through the rain forest did not have roll on capabilities, once on the train the only stop that you may want to get off at was at the top of the mountain, foldable wheelchairs could be carried on the train.
The off road trek was a big ruff to get from the road to the trail and we only went a short distance up the trail as it would have been difficult with a wheelchair to proceed further.
The beach stop the tour guide offered to push me but I said no, wheelchairs and sand do not work well, and it would had been very difficult to proceed on the beach, so only my wife went and I waited at the van.
I consider this one doable if you have some walking capabilities with assistance, but may not be good if you have no walking ability.
