Description & Accessibility
As with any Disney park in the world, it is always a good enjoyable place to visit.
Accessibility:
Like most things associated with Disney, the park is designed with accessibility in mind. The usual exception that can vary are amusement rides, and your ability to participate on any given amusement ride will depend on what limited mobility you still have and how well you can transfer in and out of your mobility device..
The festival of the Lion King is a good show, if you are using a wheelchair or scooter or simply cannot do stairs then make that known as soon as you get here, they will route wheelchairs and scooters to a different entrance and position you at the front.
We had a pre arranged ride to the park – the vehicle was not roll-on accessible but that was ok as I was using a foldable wheelchair during this visit.
On the return to the hotel we took a taxi. One important note on taking a taxi in Hong Kong is that you should always get a card from the hotel with the name / address / phone number of the hotel in both English and Chinese; a lot of the taxi drivers do not speak English well and all you have to do is show them the card and they will know where to take you. Another note is the taxi’s are designated color coded, be certain that you are aware of which taxi to take as different taxi line-ups will service different areas of Hong Kong, this you should research in advance and even ask the hotel desk. In addition to this they can charge two rates that will get combined at the end of your journey, I could not ask the reason with the Chinese speaking taxi driver, but I suspect they charged a separate rate for the luggage (the wheelchair), but I never asked for clarification when I got back to the hotel, if anyone knows about this can you please tell us and post to our forums.
If you require wheel on wheelchair service, you should discuss that availability to and from where you are going with the hotel in advance.
