Sydney
Hotel Area
Feb. 11 – 17, 2008
Description & Accessibility
The hotel and area was very accessible. Sydney as a whole was quite accessible, there will always be some spots that you may find difficult but that is the same in your home location. Star City Hotel was both a hotel and a casino.
There is a tram train that runs on the lowest level of star city completely accessible via an elevator, we went to Paddy’s Market several times via this tram, and the wheelchair entrance is the car just in back of the train operator, he / she has a portable ramp that they will drop at the train car entrance to bridge the small gap between the boarding platform and the train.
Paddy’s market is a large market where you can get great prices of a large variety of items including souvenirs. Paddy’s market is at the bottom, taking an elevator up from inside of Paddy’s market will take you to multiple floors of a shopping center.
Across the road from Paddy’s market is a boarding location for a mono rail system, we never went on it, but looking at it from Paddy’s market there was an elevator to bring you up to the boarding platform so I would assume it was accessible.
